My dear Jean,

We were so glad to have good news from all.

You have had two happy days at the Batts and told us about the vegetables you had to grow for your three quids.

I am glad you included lettuce radish.

I will appreciate these when I get home.

We are hoping you had fine weather and a very happy time at Köln.

Mummie and I are very pleased that you are going in for the Girl Guides.

Much love, dear.

Your loving daddy,

Kenneth Mackenzie
