Dearest Ruby,

Tell George to drop me a line in a hurry hoping it finds you well as it leaves me. I am still waiting for that photos of yours. I will send to you mine from England if I have the good luck to get there, the oldest soldier first so I shall not have to wait very long before i go. How is your father getting on? Plenty of work I suppose. How is Fred and Mick getting on? Remember me to them in your next letter also Lilly. I have had 1 letter from Dug. He wrote and told me he had a little man. I often get a letter from George Bryan. He told me I ought to have had old portville? in at the sports. He reckons I could have made a pile with him. Well Ruby I hope you will be satisfied with a postcard You young ladies can read through them I think. Goodbye with heaps of love Alick.
