Dear Mother and Father:

I was glad to hear from you. Sorry so many are sick, hope all are better. Can hardly realize that Aunt Cinda is gone. Alva is nearly through hauling wood. It is hot and dry, sprinkled a little yesterday, but not enough to do any good. Hard on the corn crop. We are well. Hope to see you both soon. Lovingly, Hattie.
