Dear Frank,

Thanks for Christmas card and good wishes, same to you old chap. I went home for Christmas day only, and saw Ern Chapman, his arm in still rather a crook. He told me that very likely he would have to undergo another operation to have the bone of his arm scraped, as it is showing signs of decaying. Ern Chapman is still in the trenches having a lively time too. He wrote stating his bomb throwing experiences. Plenty of mud covered from head to feet. I am harvesting at present, that is when it is not raining. Because the rain I say. This is the best card I can take up here. Tat-ah for the time. Bert

I wish you a happy and prosperous New year.
