I have seen Niagara falls three times and I consider ours just as pretty only of course so much smaller my cards can not show you their whole beauty. When the river is high after it turns these rocks it dashes and foams over rock after rock, reminding one whom has seen them of Niagara’s whirlpool rapids. In this picture there is not as much water coming over. The other view shows the falls at the time of the great flood. It was awful my husband would not let me go near it. The picture is not exaggerated at all it was simply frightful and the war could be heard so far.

Selected from the extensive collections of the National Trust Historic Postcards Collection, a collection located at the University of Maryland.
