Dear Margaret: Hope your birthday was a very happy one. We, Alice and I just returned from a trip to Edith's and Betty's. One day at Hemet Bill took us up to Idllwild and Lake Hemet. Bill said they are planning to build a city at the east side of the lake on this lovely flat valley between the mountain tops. We went down June 22nd and home from Betty's night on the 29th. Alice had to be back for a meeting Tuesday. Apricots were not quite ripe at Hemet. The neighbor who watered for us gave us some before we left and I canned 5 quarts. Wish I had a few more but will try and get peaches. Alice wants to make peach jam.
