Dear Mrs Proudman,

I am hopelessly behind and I am quite ashamed of myself being in debt to everybody. But with father being invalid we are very much more tied up than we ever were before. The weather was not good when we were at Musselburgh and I had neuralgia badly so we had not the best of times. I’m alright since we came home and I’m glad. I’ll send you others if I can get away afternoons but really we have had no summer. I hope you and your husband are well. This is the end window of all that is left of the Chapel Royal. A.E. Chaugh from Southampton visited us at Musselburgh and I took her to see it. Kind regards.

Yours sincerely,

E.C.R.
